Last minute addition opened the door for new game design ideas.


The prompt for this game jam was 'glass shards' so we went with shattering glass objectives causing chain reactions. The switch to a soup can projectile was made two hours before submission in reference to the 'van gogh soup activist' You can tell it's last minute because the can still explodes in blue glass, rather than red soup.

I had plans for a waist-high wall. this would prevent the player from entering an area. This would make the player throw the can. I however got stuck with this and rather than waste time I just implemented a punch mechanic and called it a day. This was actually a positive change, the punch was easy to implement and feels just as satisfying as the soup can. If I had more time I would have liked to expand out to 20 or so levels including the punch.
